Last updated: 15 July 2026

1. About these Terms

These Terms and Conditions govern your use of:

agisridestheworld.com

and any pages, forms, comments, articles, photographs, videos and other materials made available through the website.

By accessing or using the website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you should stop using the website.

2. About the Website Operator

The website and the expedition known as Cycling Across Europe for a Future Without Cancer are independently operated by:

Agisilaos Apostolopoulos, commonly known as Agis Apostolopoulos.

The expedition may also be referred to as:

  • Agis Rides The World
  • Cycling Across Europe for a Future Without Cancer
  • Agis Across Europe

For questions about these Terms, please use our Contact page.

3. Purpose of the Website

The website documents and supports a long-distance cycling expedition across Europe.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in a public comment or general enquiry unless it is necessary and you are comfortable sharing it.

Its content may include:

  • Expedition updates
  • Journal articles
  • Photography and video
  • Information about cycling and travel
  • Food, recipes and cultural stories
  • Cancer prevention awareness content
  • Community rides and events
  • Sponsorship information
  • Fundraising links
  • Interviews and personal contributions
  • Advertising and sponsored content

The website is provided for general information, storytelling, education and entertainment.

4. The Expedition

The planned route, schedule, distance, duration, countries, events and activities described on the website are estimates and may change.

Long-distance travel is affected by circumstances that cannot always be predicted, including:

  • Weather
  • Road and trail conditions
  • Border or travel restrictions
  • Illness or injury
  • Bicycle damage or theft
  • Safety concerns
  • Accommodation availability
  • Transport disruption
  • Financial circumstances
  • Event cancellations
  • Local laws and official guidance

We may change, delay, shorten, extend, reroute, suspend or end part or all of the expedition where reasonably necessary.

Descriptions of future destinations, events, content or activities are statements of present intention and are not guarantees that they will take place.

5. No Medical Advice

Information concerning cancer prevention, food, diet, nutrition, body weight, physical activity, health or wellbeing is provided for general awareness and educational purposes only.

It is not medical advice and must not be treated as:

  • A diagnosis
  • Medical treatment
  • Personal nutritional advice
  • A substitute for consultation with a doctor or another qualified healthcare professional
  • A guarantee that any particular illness or cancer can be prevented

Cancer is complex and cannot always be prevented. People who develop cancer should never be blamed for their diagnosis.

You should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional before making significant changes to your diet, physical activity or medical care, particularly if you have an existing condition, symptoms, an injury or concerns about your health.

You should not delay seeking medical advice because of something you have read, watched or heard through this website.

In an emergency, contact the relevant emergency service in your location.

6. Accuracy of Information

We take reasonable care when preparing and publishing website content.

However, expedition conditions, research, recommendations, routes, prices, regulations, opening hours, transport arrangements and external information may change.

We do not guarantee that every item of content will always be:

  • Complete
  • Accurate
  • Current
  • Available
  • Suitable for your particular circumstances

Any reliance you place on website content is at your own discretion and risk.

We may correct, update, replace or remove content without notice.

7. Cancer Prevention Sources

Where appropriate, the website may refer to research, recommendations and public information produced by organisations such as the World Cancer Research Fund and other recognised health or research bodies.

References to an organisation or its published information do not necessarily mean that the organisation has reviewed, approved or endorsed every statement on this website.

The expedition is independently organised and is not a healthcare provider or medical research organisation.

8. World Cancer Research Fund

The expedition raises awareness and funds in aid of the World Cancer Research Fund.

The expedition is independently organised by Agis Apostolopoulos. It is not operated, managed or controlled by the World Cancer Research Fund.

The World Cancer Research Fund is responsible for its own services, research, publications, fundraising practices and privacy arrangements.

9. Expedition Contributions Through GoFundMe

Links marked as supporting or donating to the expedition may direct you to a GoFundMe campaign.

Money contributed through the expedition’s GoFundMe campaign supports the practical costs of organising, completing and documenting the expedition.

These costs may include:

  • Bicycle equipment, repairs and maintenance
  • Safety equipment
  • Food and basic accommodation
  • Insurance
  • Travel and logistical costs
  • Website and communications costs
  • Photography, filming and audio equipment
  • Editing, production and publishing
  • Community activities and printed materials
  • Other reasonable costs connected with the expedition

GoFundMe contributions support the expedition and are not charitable donations to the World Cancer Research Fund.

The allocation of expedition funds may change as circumstances develop. We may reasonably redistribute contributions between legitimate expedition costs where needs, priorities, prices, emergencies or travel conditions change.

The website does not process GoFundMe payments. Contributions are governed by the terms, policies and payment arrangements of GoFundMe.

Questions about payment processing, refunds or platform charges should normally be directed to GoFundMe.

Nothing on this website guarantees that a GoFundMe contribution will qualify for tax relief.

10. Donations Through JustGiving

Links marked as donating in aid of the World Cancer Research Fund may direct you to a JustGiving fundraising page.

Donations made through that page are processed by JustGiving for the benefit of the World Cancer Research Fund.

These donations are separate from money raised for expedition costs.

The website does not process JustGiving payments or control how the World Cancer Research Fund uses donations it receives.

JustGiving donations are subject to the terms, privacy policies, fees and refund arrangements of JustGiving and the relevant charity.

Any eligibility for Gift Aid or another form of tax relief is determined by applicable law and the relevant fundraising platform or charity.

11. Sponsorship Enquiries

Sponsorship packages, projected reach, audience figures, content plans, proposed benefits and examples presented on the website are invitations to discuss a possible commercial relationship.

They are not binding offers or guarantees.

Any sponsorship or partnership will only become binding when the relevant parties enter into a separate written agreement.

Projected impressions, audience growth, media coverage, event attendance and other campaign outcomes are estimates. Actual outcomes may be higher or lower and are not guaranteed.

Logo placement, content production, exclusivity, promotional activity and other sponsorship benefits remain subject to:

  • A written agreement
  • Production requirements
  • Safety considerations
  • Available equipment
  • Editorial suitability
  • Platform rules
  • Applicable advertising law
  • Changes to the expedition

Submitting a sponsorship enquiry does not create a contract or require either party to proceed.

12. Advertising and Commercial Content

The website may display advertisements through services such as Google AdSense.

Advertisements may be selected, delivered and measured by Google or other advertising technology providers. Further information about the use of personal information, cookies and advertising technologies is provided in the Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

The appearance of an advertisement on the website does not mean that we:

  • Endorse the advertiser
  • Recommend the product or service
  • Guarantee any claim made in the advertisement
  • Accept responsibility for the advertiser’s website or conduct

Your dealings with an advertiser are between you and that advertiser.

The website may also publish sponsored content, acknowledge in-kind support or include links connected with commercial relationships. We will take reasonable steps to identify paid or sponsored content where disclosure is required.

The views expressed in editorial content remain those of the relevant author unless stated otherwise.

13. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, all intellectual property rights in the website and its original content belong to Agisilaos Apostolopoulos or are used with permission.

  • Maps created for the project

You may:

  • View the website for personal use

  • Use website content to train, develop or evaluate an artificial intelligence system
  • Use automated tools to scrape or systematically collect website content, except for legitimate search engine indexing

The website may allow visitors to submit comments.

You remain responsible for anything you post.

Comments must not:

  • Be unlawful, threatening or abusive
  • Be defamatory or knowingly false
  • Harass, intimidate or discriminate against another person
  • Infringe copyright, privacy or other rights
  • Contain confidential information
  • Promote violence or illegal activity
  • Contain malware, spam or misleading links
  • Impersonate another person or organisation
  • Advertise products or services without permission
  • Include unnecessary personal or sensitive information
  • Exploit or endanger a child

Comments represent the views of their authors and not necessarily the views of Agis Apostolopoulos, the expedition, its supporters or the World Cancer Research Fund.

We may moderate, refuse, edit, hide or remove comments where we reasonably believe that they breach these Terms or could expose a person or organisation to harm or legal risk.

We are not obliged to publish every submitted comment.

To report a comment, please contact us and identify the page and comment concerned.

15. Stories, Recipes, Photographs and Other Contributions

You may be invited to submit or share:

  • A personal story
  • A recipe
  • A photograph
  • A video or audio recording
  • Written material
  • Information about a local tradition
  • A dedication
  • An interview
  • Another creative or community contribution

You retain ownership of original material that you submit.

By voluntarily submitting material for publication, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to store, reproduce, edit, translate, format, publish, communicate and share that material for purposes connected with the expedition.

This may include use through:

  • The website
  • Social media
  • Video platforms
  • Podcasts
  • Presentations
  • Media and press materials
  • Exhibitions
  • Printed expedition materials
  • A documentary film
  • A future book or written collection
  • Promotional material for the expedition

Where a contribution is intended for a significant commercial production, sponsored campaign or another purpose not reasonably expected when it was submitted, we may seek a separate agreement.

You confirm that:

  • You created the material or have permission to submit it
  • Its publication will not infringe another person’s rights
  • It is not confidential
  • It is not knowingly false or defamatory
  • You have obtained appropriate permission from identifiable people featured in it
  • A parent or guardian has provided permission where a child is intentionally featured

Submitting material does not guarantee that it will be published.

We may edit contributions for length, clarity, translation, formatting, technical quality or legal compliance while seeking to preserve their meaning.

Requests to stop future use of a contribution will be considered reasonably. It may not always be possible to recall or remove material that has already been lawfully published, printed, distributed, broadcast or incorporated into completed work.

Sensitive personal stories, including stories about health, cancer or bereavement, may require additional consent before publication.

16. Photography and Recording at Events

Photography, video or audio recording may take place during public rides, talks, cooking activities and community events connected with the expedition.

Where practical, participants will be informed that recording is taking place.

If you do not wish to be deliberately photographed, filmed or interviewed, please tell the organiser or photographer as early as possible.

Additional permission will normally be sought before making a person the principal subject of a personal interview, health story or planned feature.

A parent’s or guardian’s permission will be sought where appropriate before intentionally featuring a child as the main subject of a story or promotional recording.

This includes liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence

The revised Terms will be published on this page with an updated revision date.

Your continued use of the website after revised Terms are published means that the revised Terms apply to your subsequent use.
